2005 Cadillac SRX (Reposted from TroubleCodes.net)

This being a COP (coil on plug) style engine, the word unlikely is and understatement word. The best bet here would be to record the freeze frames. Set them aside for future reference Then do a proper drive cycle. See what comes back. Most likely the lean codes are the source of the misfire...

Maybe this should be moved to imports.

    Oil temp sensor location

Can you read the actual oil temp in live data, or is it just a simple code reader you are using. Cuz diagnostic of this code will differ. I am pretty sure this may even be the actual video on boob tube you saw. And yes, that is exactly where it is. Right below the coil pack.

    Oil temp sensor location

If in fact, it is a turbo engine. You should see that with the dual cam heads and the intercooler. And if again, it is a turbo, how in the heck did you get that code? So lets make sure you have facts straight. SOHC 2.5liter, 2007 impreza. Yes? Not a WRX or a STI? Yes? If yes to all of the...

    Oil temp sensor location

For the turbo engine, it DOES NOT have a oil temp sensor and hence cannot give you that code. So you DO HAVE a non turbo engine, and you are just missing it. Mind you, I fix canada only models, some may differ, but somehow, I don't think so. I wish I could help you more. But all the boxer...

    Oil temp sensor location

For the non turbo 2.5l, it IS located Rear of passenger head right below the ignition coil pack. #8. Should be visible right below the main engine wire harness quick disconnect on that side of boxer. If you don't see it there, you have a turbo engine DOHC. So keep looking, should be a two wire deal.

Motor Vehicle Owners' Right to Repair Act

This is an old movie, but sure was spot on. Only 10 yrs old. Seem familiar now?

Motor Vehicle Owners' Right to Repair Act

Where did the word OWN cease to exist. If you paid for it, you should in principal be able to do what you want to it. Buyer beware is no longer in the fine print, instead it is replaced by "we own you and this product forever". Lawsuits for frivolous things galore. Old age is now a hindrance...

Motor Vehicle Owners' Right to Repair Act

Ask yourself, do you really need a self driving car? If so, you just cut half the transport industry in half. Global population is exponential, that is a fact. How do you feed them if they have no use? I love the idea that we ideally will be on mars in a few yrs, I think 2023 is now the...

Motor Vehicle Owners' Right to Repair Act

Again, thoughts anyone? Or should we just roll over and giggle at the tickles? As a professional tech in the aftermarket, I come across all kinds of red tape just to get a dealership code when it should be available under law when I meet all the requirements. For those who are over 30, think...

Motor Vehicle Owners' Right to Repair Act

The more our cars and trucks will go into a new phase, such a 5G. How will to do it yourself-er deal with such high bandwidths? And even if they can, will the auto manufacturers continue to withhold vital info and essentially buy our congress whether it be USA or Canada. Is NAFTA also being...

Motor Vehicle Owners' Right to Repair Act

I don't think I am some sort of Alex Jones, but this smells just like it is written. Phasing out. But what are the repercussions for YOU, the end user? I have not been very eloquent and active in this regards because this site is for the end user who WANTS to fix it himself/herself. We, as...

Motor Vehicle Owners' Right to Repair Act

The Motor Vehicle Owners' Right to Repair Act, sometimes also referred to as Right to Repair, is a name for several related proposed bills in the United States Congress and several state legislatures which would require automobile manufacturers to provide the same information to independent...

Now my passion has gone forward, I am more inclined to the tech side, but in the end, the laws of physics apply. I find the most complex in the simplest of forms. It is easy for me. If I would have followed in my dads shoes, I would have wrote a book or two. On this site, I may write mine...

This passion of mine for the automotive comes from when I was 5 or so. My dad brought me to a canadian tire shop. I saw the car go up on the hoist. I had no idea what it was, but then I saw the guy just cut through the car in a swirl of sparks flying everywhere. I asked my dad what he was...

When I was 9, my grandmother gave me a lego set. The Georges Lucas set. Star wars was big back then. My first tool kit came from a mac tool truck. I still have the tool kit. In my living room. The girls that love me hate my art deco. I say it gives me style. Box was a used snap on head, 3...
