I am doing the passenger wheel hub assembly today and want to verify axle nut torque. I believe it is 180 ft lbs. I have also been told that the manufacturer's of these send out there own spec. What is a good rule of thumb on this and which is a good brand to buy.

Tighten the outer hub nut to 173 ft. lbs. (235 Nm) on 1988–91 models, 180 ft. lbs. (245 Nm) on 1992–95 models and 165 ft. lbs. (225 Nm) on 1996–98 models.

BUT I would follow any instructions supplied with new assy...
