ok...I went through the book on this one and needed to know how much slack in the timing chain would set this code off. I did take valve cover off and noticed some slack. Meaning .....I was able to move the timing chain up and down at top between the intake and exhaust cams about i would say 1/4" of an inch. Is this enough set code? Or in other words is the timing chain supposed to be tight or snug without slack at all? Or can I say by moving the crank back or forth a degree or two should the chain be still snug or tight as the timing chain tension is ? Also is the timing chain tension oil driven or spring loaded ETC.?

what are the other codes?
there is likely NO way to check distance - the PCM is sensing the TDC of CKP and CMP and the degrees are not in range....

Have you had VVT issues?
Both sensors are TOYOTA and not aftermarket?

Ok l did replace the pcm and still had same issue, same code. The oil had been changed and is clean. like I said. In stating my question? What is considered slack on the chain? how much is a little to stipulate a code?
