DESCRIBE ISSUE....my car will not go thru smog cause of the cat moniter will not reset, there are no codes at all, no pending or history codes we drove from upland to newport beach in attempt to reset cat. it still has not reset apparently i cleaned my battery cables some time jan or feb i thought nothing i drive mostly around town to work local driving from upland to montclair any ideas drives great runs great only a 155,000 miles on it passed smog perfect in the past any ideas could cleaning o2 sensors help?

Any pending codes? I expect live-data will be useful here.

Edit: Oops, I just saw the "no pending or history codes".

I am going to try cleaning oxygen sensors do you think cata clean might help thats the weird thing no codes at all drove over a 100 miles from upland to south orange county should have reset and back even added fuel injection cleaner to tank and filled it up with premuim

Some thoughts-
everything is working - fuel gauge, temp gauge...
First thing in AM* compare the ECT to IAT - a difference will not allow test to run .
The ECT must reach @180F to enter test. It is idle to warm up then drive
.

And compare ECT/IAT to ambient in which it has been sitting, they should all be pretty much the same.
