I'm working on a 98 chevy cavalier with a 2.2 liter engine, automatic, and has 2 codes that have to be cleared before it can be inspected. P0404 and P0405. The one says it is an exhaust gas recirculating control range. I took off the snorkel from the air cleaner to the throttle body and removed the throttle body. I see nothing that resembles an EGR system. I think the computer is having phantom pains. Can anyone explain this?
I await your response with greasy hands. Hoader

You have a linear EGR....has a 5 wire harness going to it.....possibilities are harness connectors, harness, EGR, or PCM.....

To diagnose your really need a scan tool....you command the EGR open a certain % and then you look for a corresponding pintle position reading......
