I'm trying to find the procedure to replace the heater core on a 2000 Impala 3.8. It has bucket seats with floor console which I imagine that has to be removed but what else? Searched alldata and might be doing something wrong but cannot buy the data I need. Any help again would be appreciated.

A picture is worth 1000 words - Check you tube 2000 impala heater core, dash removal , etc some time viewing will be anxiety and time helpful.

To post the procedure text is long and nowhere near as helpful

3.8 hr. reg. time for heater core with air and factory warranty time is only 2.4 hr.
How would you like to be a dealership tech?
But not all dash is removed for just heater core just trim and outside shell more or less.
    Good luck.

Actually, std time is 3.3hr, warranty time is 1.3hr. Since you have center console, add 0.4hr.

thank you very much nickb2, hows the weather up there? I thought the console would have to go for sure. I need to ask a dumb question here, is the core accesible from underneath the dash or does the plastic dash trim have to be removed to gain access? The last Impala I put a core in was in the 1970-80's, quite a bit different now. thanks again for the pdf I do appreciate it.

Not there yet, missed my plane on tuesday, my plane leaves tomorrow morning, you can believe I won't miss that one. But the weather network say in miss 28's to -30's.

The access cover should be front, check the pdf out carefully, it should state that. Never forget, the only dumb/stupid question is the one that was not asked!!
