Need help. Have a GMC Sierra Z71-2000 model ,5300 engine. Problem is you can't turn off the heater after it's been on awhile. It continues to put out hot air when the controls are turned off. The only way to stop it is to turn off the truck and let it cool down. The control panel will also get hot. What's stinking open?

The fan will shut off. It does no good to turn on the ac. If you open the windows that just continues to draw the hot air in. Vaccum or mechanical I don't know. ALL I know for sure is it can get really hot inside that truck. Thanks for your replys.

check the air temp control actuator....

Fuzzy memory but a start....
This actuator in 2000 (if I remember) was located on bottom of HVAC unit...big feet can kick the connector??

a place to start... also check* a 10amp HVAC fuse in fuse box

*removing this fuse for 60seconds MAY reset module... just read that SO it can't hurt ..any info and free and easy.
