Hello i own mercedes 350glk all the time im putting premium fuel and synthetic oil...last time i changed my oil was on my vacation trip with kids and i did it at the local shop, after that few days later i noticed check engine code p0015.My question is can this code be caused by non synthetic oil?

NO fuel or oil would not cause this code.

The P0015 DTC specifically refers to the camshaft (cam) timing.

Not so fast, Jack...

I'm thinking this engine has VVT, and those systems are often fussy about the oil viscosity. Non-synthetic should be no problem, but other characteristics of the oil may be at play here.

Bill: I see your point although what I read does not mention improper oil as a concern. But I must admit I do not know.

Easy and probably the least expensive way to find out might be for Andrzej to invest in another oil change with the proper Syn oil.

Did you ask them what they used? Like Jack said: if in doubt, change it again and ensure the new meets the specs in your owners manual. The cost of an oil change is cheap insurance.

did you confirm the oil level? Check for yourself?
What year is this vehicle, we could look up more detailed info knowing that.
Does the vehicle call for premium fuel - expensive$$ is unnecessary.

Its glk 350 it calls for synthetic oil and above 91 gasoline. I checked the oil level and everything looks good ...all i worry about is that they put regular oil instead of synthetic,i payed for synthetic but like i said it that was small local shop .

Do as colleagues suggested have your regular service provider change oil to eliminate possibility...
We could look at known issues if we know model year..
