th350 slips in reverse

    what should the first thing to look at be? all my forward gears seem to work fine, but reverse slips when any throttle is applied.

    You could drop the pan and look, valve body bolts can work loose causing all manner of problems but I suspect when you look inside the pan that you will find a ton 'o trash. I'm fairly sure it's overhaul time and almost as certain the high clutchs are smoked and it should be slipping in high gear also. Post results, Transman

    i was thinking clutches too, just wanted someone with more tranny knowledge to confirm. i pulled it out and replaced it for now. i will rebuild it and keep in on the side for a spare... thanks.

    will do, i just took it out for now and put in another one i had just recently rebuilt. that was my first one, so the next one should be easier... lol what is a good quality kit to buy for a heavy duty build?

    Call Part-Rite and ask for Bill, Use Borg-Warner clutches only. Don't forget new bushings and washers to keep it inline and get the endplay right. Transman
