    Codes not adding up

Didn’t seem to, just the instant on with the two codes. Now with the sensor connected, rough idle. I had the battery disconnected overnight, so it “should” have unlearned the readings from the old sensor…

    Codes not adding up

Well, now I feel stupid. Went to swap out the new sensor with the old one, and apparently when I reconnected the harness, it didn’t latch completely. I never tugged it to ensure it was solidly connected. Now it runs ok, but not at idle, keeps dying. Took it out for test drive, runs fine at...

    Codes not adding up

Yeah, I’m thinking bad sensor as well. For shits and giggles, I’m going to put the old sensor in, and see if it repeats. No repeat, then my thoughts are bad sensor…

    P0507 idle air control issue

FIXED! Turns out the connector for the cable had broken off on the end. New throttle housing and this problem has gone away!

    Codes not adding up

Previously had a post about throttle control issues, which turned out to be a bad throttle linkage - slot where the cable connected had broken, but I didn’t realize at the time there was a broke piece, as it looked to be open ended. Now, I’m getting a P0171 code. I’ve sprayed carb/choke cleaner...

    P0507 idle air control issue

Update - a couple friends independently mentioned a possible carbon buildup up on the throttle body/plate area, so I pulled the entire throttle assembly, and gave a good cleaning in the parts washer with a brass brush. There was a “little” bit of buildup around the edges of the throttle plate...

    P0507 idle air control issue

Runs fine, until it acts up. Then it gets a revving idle. The wife gets all scared when that happens. Yesterday the code popped again, and it revved up and down a bit. She stopped at the store in the way home, and it ran fine.

    P0507 idle air control issue

TP 9.4% TP_R 0.0% What a day! I’m at work 2+ hours in, and the wife texts me that the car is dead, the door locks won’t open using the fob - she had to unlock the door manually! I get home, battery is reading 0.4 volts. Put it on the charger, then start looking for battery drain. Turns out she...

    P0507 idle air control issue

Ok, just get home from work, and the wife informs me the CEL is back on. Fuel tank is reading 3/4 tank. System status shows one monitor as INC. When I go into the I/M Readiness, Catalyst Monitoring is showing INC. the evaporative system monitoring is showing OK. Could this possibly be a...

FF? Meaning freeze frame? Possibly, still trying to figure out everything on the scanner. What am I looking for?

    P0507 idle air control issue

Wife’s car, bought used (see earlier post!), have had it running now for 2 years. Initially it had a code P0507, idle air control system rpm higher than expected. Read up on this, and apparently a very common occurrence is the IAC failure. I replaced that, and all was good - for awhile. Then...

    P0302 - cylinder 2 misfire

Update - she made it back with no issues! I’m going to tentatively call this one fixed (fingers crossed!!!). Don’t know if it was the new plugs, or the new gasket (the O-ring that seals against the spark plug cylinder tower had actually come loose and worked it’s way down to bottom of the shaft...

    P0302 - cylinder 2 misfire

NGK Just replaced with 4 new ones (also NGK), and replaced the valve cover gasket with the new rings that go around the spark plug tube. Started it up, let it run for a couple minutes, and no codes. Turned it off, put the cover back in place, and sent her out for a test ride. She’s been gone a...
