How to remove electrical connector from brake light switch_1987 Toyota Camry

Thanks nickb2 and NickD. 1) I am convinced the problem is not the fuse because the problem is not that the brake lights will not come on; it is that they STAY ON. I saw the the plastic (or rubber) pieces of the old brake switch cushion (or grommet) on the floor. First I tried to simply replace...

1987 Toyota Camry brake light switch cushion (or plug)

Guys, This, for you, is an ez question. I found out the hard way that my brake lights were staying on; the brake light switch malfunctioned because the cushion( small rubber plug) had deteriorated and fallen in pieces to the floor. I bought a new cushion at the dealer (very cheap). After...

    2002 Toyota Highlander_Transmission Fluid Leak

First of all Thanks for your replies-> billr, grauto, MobileDan, JackC, Since I posted my last reply I have monitored the leak almost daily. Conclusion-> I made a mistake, I no longer think it's transmission fluid. NO it appears to be ENGINE OIL. What fooled me was I saw drops hanging from...

    2002 Toyota Highlander_Transmission Fluid Leak

I was surprised at the number of replies. Thanks. Clarification->when I look under the hood I can see the usual OIL gunk, but I can only see down to the exhaust manifold. When i get on my back underneath I can see the transmission fluid mist coating the transmission, which starts somewhere...

    2002 Toyota Highlander_Transmission Fluid Leak

12/7 took another look. 1)jacked up Highlander to see underneath. I see the same hanging drops from the two 10mm bolts. The bolts hold a cover on the transaxle. As I said before the leakage is about 3 inches to the left of the transmission fluid pan (that is facing the front of vehicle). 2) Up...

    2002 Toyota Highlander_Transmission Fluid Leak

Thanks Billr. No, there is more holding that panel on, in addition to the two 10mm bolts there are two 14mm bolts. And that's what I can see without jacking it up. I am on vacation tomorrow and plan to take a better look.

    2002 Toyota Highlander Brake Light

Mobile Dan and Kev2 I appreciate the replies. However in 2016 I did use dielectric grease. Update->since I tighten the bulbs and connectors on Tuesday 6/20/17 the light has worked. But I don't think it's fixed, so I will keep monitoring it.

    2002 Toyota Highlander Brake Light

6/21/17 Additional info: overall the light is fine, all the following lights work ok->tail light, backup light, direction signal. The only problem for that passenger side tail light has always been the BRAKE LIGHT. That' it.

    Toyota Highlander_Trouble code P1135

Thanks for the reply Mobile Dan and kev2. Question, where is Bank 1 Sensor 1? The reason I ask is because I got another code reading at O'reillys and the more complete reading is P1135, B1 S1. And I noticed the illustration above is for Bank 2 Sensor 1. So where is B1 S1? Another illustration...
