    2014 Elantra GT oil consumption

Alas, I think 500 miles/quart is considered to be the minimal standard for "normal" by many manufacturers. I did a quick browse, and see that some 2.0L Hyundai engines were recalled due to poor heat-treat of oil-control rings. However, those are for 2019 and later, and for a specific type of...

    2014 Elantra GT oil consumption

How many miles is "2 weeks of local driving"? What type and viscosity is the oil being used? You can't dismiss engine internals, like rings or valve seals, just because it runs great and there is no obvious smoke or oil in the exhaust. Have you browsed some Hyundai-specific websites to see if...

How to get birthdate corrected in my profile

I may be able to edit it, but I don't see "birthdate" on the profile. Where does it appear; maybe post a screen-shot?

    S10 Fuel pressure problem

What is your point? I already suggested (in reply #4) that the FPR return line be checked for excessive flow. It doesn't matter what the exact "FPR" config is. There is a line to return fuel to the tank with this system, correct? Dumping fuel into the manifold will cause the extreme rich...

    S10 Fuel pressure problem

OK, I didn't read (or remember) well enough to note the pump/filter change; but we still can't ignore the pump. The pump may not be getting proper power, or the replacement may have been bad. In this age of "unlimited returns", parts from a store are always a crap-shoot. Is there any hint of...

    S10 Fuel pressure problem

Or, the fuel pump could be getting tired. So, how do you tell if the problem is the pump, FPR, filter, or load (spider/injectors)? Not so easy to do; I would start at the pump, see if it can maintain pressure (100 psi or so) while flowing 1/3 gal/min. That isn't an exact spec, but should be...

1987 Toyota Camry -BRAKE (STOP) LIGHTS DO NOT LIGHT

What voltage do you have, referenced to ground, on pin 3 and pin 1 of the brake-light switch harness? Check this with KOEO and with the harness connected to the switch and disconnected, both ways. Did you try connecting the switch to the harness, unmounted? GRC, do you have more of the wiring...

ALL possible causes for no forward gear in 4t65e transmission? Added some clips

Don't be so afraid (or lazy) about removing the trans. I have done many such jobs using common jacks, like floor/bottle/scissors, and creative use of blocks. It doesn't really take any "special tools". That said, I recently needed to do a trans removal at a JY and wanted to minimize my time...

    turn signal issue

License lights are generally turned on at the same time as the front and tail marker lights, which are also generally closely related to turn signals and brake lights, They (license) probably share some circuitry with the turn signals. Have you tried disconnecting the trailer stuff, all the...

1987 Toyota Camry -BRAKE (STOP) LIGHTS DO NOT LIGHT

The diagram I was looking for is in reply #20 of that old thread. Can you easily connect the switch to the wiring, but have it not mounted? If so, do that to confirm this isn't just an adjustment problem. If no joy with that, then we will need somebody to post the schematic for that circuit...

1987 Toyota Camry -BRAKE (STOP) LIGHTS DO NOT LIGHT

Find your old thread and post a link to it (or just bump it up to current). There were some good diagrams of that goofy brake-light-switch arrangement in that old thread; save me from having to search for it.

good afternoon I have a Nissan called estaquitas and I have a problem when it is cold at the morning I can start it with out any problem but when it b

Clarify what you mean by "problems to start again" (when hot). Does it not crank? Does it have to crank for many seconds before firing? Do you have to crank several different times before it will fire? Do you have to turn the key all the way to the "off" position several times?

ALL possible causes for no forward gear in 4t65e transmission? Added some clips

It sounds like you did not disassemble any of the clutches, removing the steel/friction plates entirely. You really need to do that to do meaningful inspection of all those parts. Going that deep into the trans, I would figure on replacing all seals and the friction plates/bands. Inspect the...

ALL possible causes for no forward gear in 4t65e transmission? Added some clips

Here is a link to another IPB, with names for the parts. The item numbers look similar, but they are not the same as the IPB that was posted by BP. BP is a trans expert, so take his advice seriously. BP, is there any real difference between the "20 pan screw" version and the others; can we...

ALL possible causes for no forward gear in 4t65e transmission? Added some clips

Do you have a good IPB (Illustrated Parts Breakdown) of the trans to post, so we can all identify the parts we are discussing? If not, I will post a link to one.

2006 E350 Super Duty 5.4 liter Transmission Fluid

Any codes set or pending? How long did you run the engine when the trans was low on fluid? The first thing I would check would be hydraulic line-pressure. Do you know what model this trans is?

ALL possible causes for no forward gear in 4t65e transmission? Added some clips

I am not a trans expert, and have no experience with this type trans. However, I did peek at an IPB for it (by the way, is yours the "20 pan screws version"?) and see that the FWD drum/band is buried deepest in the trans. So, you pretty much did disassemble the trans to get to that; even...

ALL possible causes for no forward gear in 4t65e transmission? Added some clips

How do you know the clutches are all OK; have you disassembled the trans? The next time you have the pan off, remove the VB and do some air-checks. There are probably sprag clutches (no hydraulic operation) that are best checked with the trans disassembled.

2006 E350 Super Duty 5.4 liter Transmission Fluid

I doubt you harmed the engine at all. The drain/filter/flush/refill already done should be more than adequate I would worry more about running the trans "dry", but it is never completely dry, and I also doubt you ran it long. I would not fret about that either, unless some trans symptom...
