    2009 Lexus RX350 P043e P043f P2401 P2402

Been a while! I have had good automotive fortunes lately. But now . . . 2009 Lexus RX350 showing P043e P043f P2401 P2402. I checked under the hood and checked all of the air/vacuum hoses. Replaced a few that looked suspect. Removed the charcoal canister and was able to blow air through it (my...

    P0174 (corrected)

I previously called "FIXED" on this one too soon, but I think it really is fixed now. After a very long time of wrestling with this one, I finally figured it out. The code was setting quickly and every time it set, I would clear the codes. Finally, a new code came up I had never seen before...

Transfer Case Link 2013 Ford Edge

Fixed! The easy way. My daughter decided to take the car to the dealership where she bought it to get this fixed. It would have taken me days in the home garage, so I'm glad she made that decision. The really good news is that she talked to the salesman who sold her the car. He contacted Ford...

Transfer Case Link 2013 Ford Edge

Thanks for all the great info. Because this is my daughter's car, and it's her money, she decided to take it to the Ford dealer for repair. Initial estimate is $1,000 (part) plus labor to replace the transfer case. My guess is that the case needs replacing. See the video for what leaked out. It...

I won't have a chance to get back under the car until tomorrow afternoon. I'll post some pics then. Thanks, billr!

Transfer Case Link 2013 Ford Edge

Hello all, My daughter's car this time! Heavy black oil leakage from the transfer case (is that the correct term? AWD car and this thing is just behind the tranny.). My guess is that a seal is leaking. Car drives fine and shifts good. Found the problem because of an odor--the oil leaking down...

    P0174 (corrected)

Update: either that weren't it (as Curly on the 3 Stooges used to say), or something changed. I am still getting the same P0174. Now, unlike my recent video, the B2S2 oxygen sensor is now saying about .9 all the time. If cruising at highway speed and I come off the throttle to slow down, it will...

    P0174 (corrected)

Mode 6 is new to me. I looked around on my scanner and found this. Is this the Mode 6 you were asking about? I'm not sure what any of this means. Thanks!

    P0174 (corrected)

Update! I do enjoy a good cigar. I did not particularly enjoy using the cigar smoke method to try to find a vacuum leak. Too much puffing too fast! And, to make it worse, the smoke did not help me find a leak. However, in the process of doing this, I saw two things. First, a hose I removed to...

    P0174 (corrected)

Just drove another three hundred miles and check the codes again. Now I'm getting code P 2231. Could I have caused this problem when I was using piercing probes to check the continuity of the wires going to the ECM?

Please help me out with the old school carb spray trick. What is that and how do I do it?

    P0174 (corrected)

05 Lexus ES330 After my recent, long-running Saga of eventually needing to replace my oxygen sensor on bank 2 Sensor 2, I now getting code p0147. Looking on the internet tells me that has something to do with bank 2 sensor 3, but I don't see that my car has a sensor 3 on either Bank. Car is...

    Cat problem?

Done! Fixed! The ordeal is over! First, and most important, my profound thanks to all. This post is #44 is a long saga. The length of this, frankly, is my fault. This is me: The punch line here is that my problem was with O2 sensor B2S2 but I was working all along on B1S2. Right pew, wrong...

    Cat problem?

Yes, I think that after all of this time and effort (and blood, sweat, and tears) I may have been checking the wrong thing. Now I'm trying to identify the part number for the Bank 2 Sensor 2 O2 sensor to see if the connector end looks like what I have been working with. Does Denso 234-4261 look...

    Cat problem?

Yes, billr, I am very confused. I appreciate your responses. I think I may have figured out my problem. If you, or anyone, can answer this for me, I think I will have this figured out: from the connector that the O2 plugs into, the wire colors leaving that connector should be the same colors...

    Cat problem?

Because the color on the schematic is black. The brown looks brown and the yellow looks yellow. If black=blue, then I think I'm good to go. But, the wire is blue at the connector and black at the ECM.
  19. I

    Cat problem?

Well now I am confused. Perhaps overthinking this, but want to be careful. The wires going from the O2 sensor (B2S2) are yellow (to pin 33) and black (to pin 29). According to the schematic provided by kev2 in post 31, the wires coming out the back of the O2 connector should be yellow, black...

    Cat problem?

kev2, Yes, this helps. This diagram shows that I was in the right area on the ECM. I checked for continuity between the O2 connector HT and the yellow wire that goes to pin 33 on the ECM and the circuit showed open (infinite ohms--no electrical connection). Same with looking for continuity...
