    P0751 2002 Chevy S10 Pickup. ZR2 182,000 miles

Hey guys, my work schedule has been very busy lately. I have decided to let a transmission shop handle this. If I had all the time in the world, it would be different. I will definitely post the outcome here. I really appreciate the help you guys give. This is a great place.

Thanks for taking the time to read this BP. I hope you're feeling better. I've called a local transmission shop that had some pretty good reviews. The guy told me pretty much the same thing. He mentioned probably a broken piston. It's great to have two opinions that pretty much agree. I...

Bill, thank you very much for getting the attention of the transmission expert. I really appreciate it.

That code only came up the one time. I looked visually at the wiring when I was under there. It looked fine from what I can see.

Thanks Bill. I'm not sure how to do any of what you just said. I'll have to google it. I am a novice on transmissions.

    P0751 2002 Chevy S10 Pickup. ZR2 182,000 miles

Well, I changed the A and B solenoids. New filter. Refilled with 2 bottles of Lucas Trans fix and Dexron III. Transmission slipping badly. If I accelerate slow. It will shift ok to about 30 mph. Once I start trying to go faster, the RPM's just shoot up. I had it up around 50 and the RPM were...

Thanks for that recommendation, Bill. I will take a look at it. I just update where I am on this job right now in my reply to NIck. Yes, 4L60E. I'm not sure what I was thinking when I wrote what I did.

Any time, Nick. Be advised that I'm currently doing this particular job. Last thing I need to figure out is how to get the old filter seal out of the trans without damaging anything. I bought a one piece filter from global transmission so I can't just reuse the old seal. I don't think? Maybe...

Thanks, Nick. I have watched that video and a couple of others. :). I guess all I can do is give it a try. As you know. There is no drain plug. I'd prefer to take the pan off once lol. It's gonna be messy. I have some plastic and cardboard to lay down. This vehicle being 20 years old is...

I wish your shop was close. I'd just let you look at it. It's hard to find anyone you can trust anymore. I used to know a few local mechanics but, they've all gotten older and retired from that now. I just do everything myself. I don't think I'd do a trans tear down though. Too much for one...

    P0751 2002 Chevy S10 Pickup. ZR2 182,000 miles

My transmission started slipping the other day. I got a code P0751. I can drive it and accelerate very slowly and it usually shifts through the gears. Sometimes it doesn't seem to go into OD. I believe it's a 460LE. My scanner says previously reported fixes were replacing the shift solenoid...

Slightly low if it's accurate. I think I earlier measured it's resistance at 13 ohms. 13/12 would leave it at just slight above 1 ohm. There is an identical sensor on the opposite side. It was acting up before so I hate to disturb it now that it's working fine. :) I do still have the original...

Hey Nick, thanks for the vine buddy. As you can see, I'm still fighting this. I can't let it beat me!

The P0135 is now the only code that is appearing. I checked it today for current draw. It's drawing about 700 milliamps. Pretty close to what I'd expect. I also repeated the headlight test and the light worked fine. It was drawing 3 amps. That's what it should draw given it's a 35 watt headlamp...

Update: I had to work 8 12 hour days in a row so I haven't messed with it. I did however notice that I kept clearing the light and the only code that kept coming back now is the P0135. That for the record is the side I did NOT mess with in post 32. The front passenger side code hasn't returned...

I have NOT tried to read heater current. I wonder if freeze data when the code sets would help?

Well, I checked the truck out today and, you're right Dan. The wire got hot when I started the engine. I was checking at the splice. I also checked the ground side coming from the PCM and it was fine. I then went down to the front sensor connector on the passenger side and opened the connector...

That would be a good idea. The screws holding the metal case together must be on the bottom because looking at it, I don’t see any.

I’ll have to check. I know the pink wire going to the rear sensor gets hot without the engine running. I guess the other two could be different.

Ok, I checked the wiring today at S101. That's splice 101 in the diagram I posted. I know I checked at the sensors before and I had voltage. Today when checking, I had nothing on the LT.GRN/WHT wire coming from the PCM. I used the battery as my ground. I did however have system voltage on the...
