ABS ECB trouble 2011 Toyota Prius!

Are the bubbles normal for a hybrid with the booster pump?

ABS ECB trouble 2011 Toyota Prius!

That's what the techstream is for, but aside from the linear valve offset and the stroke simulator stuff, there's not really a "program" option? Any idea why every time the bleeder is open that the same amount of bubbles come out? The bubbles will stop flowing, but when you close the bleeder...

ABS ECB trouble 2011 Toyota Prius!

Howdy all! I'm really pulling my hair out, what little I have left! Replaced ABS module and actuator. Trying to bleed brakes and perform stroke simulator relearn, with no luck! Using downloaded Techstream and usb cable. Get error msg during bleeding that won't allow to complete final steps. Also...

New aftermarket GM radiator leak at trans cooler!

Well sometimes it’s best not to overthink this stuff! Following suggestions here for trying a larger thickness O-ring, that may have fixed it. NAPA had some metric nitrile O-rings that were a bit thicker, yet still went together without much extra effort and so far so good. I’ll report back...

New aftermarket GM radiator leak at trans cooler!

There are threads involved but that is the connection of the fitting to the radiators internal trans cooler, the leak I have is within this fitting.

New aftermarket GM radiator leak at trans cooler!

Well the engineers at GM took all the guesswork and room for error out of this job...nothing to under or over tighten, just a snap ring type of clip holds everything in place. I cleaned everything up real good (again) and drove it for awhile and thought maybe the OEM ring was holding, but it...

New aftermarket GM radiator leak at trans cooler!

After making it through an engine swap on this vehicle..,I found the radiator had a hole in it during its maiden voyage! I ordered a “heavy duty” aftermarket radiator, proceeded to remove the front fascia (bumper) and swap out old for new. Upon topping off my fluids I found trans fluid...

Can a bad strut bearing damage the spring

Sometimes you just need another set of eyes....a buddy of mine looked at the spring and right away said that it was broken and missing 3 or 4 inches! I picked up another strut assembly today at a salvage yard and he was right! Swapped springs and Everything is back to normal.

Can a bad strut bearing damage the spring

My 2009 Saturn Outlook that just received a donor engine from an 09 Cadillac CTS that is detailed in another post. Before the motor had quit I had replaced the shocks, struts, control arms, bushings, etc. Even with all the new suspension parts there was still a “clunk” noise when turning. I...

Outlook Acadia Traverse...best way to remove engine

Well thanks to all that offered their wisdom and advice....I ended up replacing the engine. I got a steal of a deal on an 09 low mile Cadillac CTS engine. Had to swap timing cover, oil pan, exhaust and intake manifolds. I was able to do the job without an overhead lift...in my driveway! Started...

Outlook Acadia Traverse...best way to remove engine

Alrighty, I’m about ready to put this baby back together! I’m open to any words of encouragement, advice or warnings. I decided to re-ring, new bearings and heads inspected at machine shop. I bought all name brand parts...gaskets, timing set, bearings, rings, water pump and oil pump. Would an...

Outlook Acadia Traverse...best way to remove engine

One head had one cam bearing cap cracked on the intake side...the other head looks great! I can get a good low mileage complete head for about $200, I can get a rebuilt head for about $350. Didn’t think it would be necessary to replace both, but would definitely like to hear from you guys on...

Outlook Acadia Traverse...best way to remove engine

Well I finally got some time to get back on this project! Thank god I have something else to drive in the meantime. The 2011 camaro donor engine appears to be in much better overall condition and considering it has 60k fewer miles than the outlook engine, it should. I’m going to replace one head...

Outlook Acadia Traverse...best way to remove engine

Yes, it’s a pretty decent vehicle all around, definitely worth saving. Of course if I had to take this somewhere for repair it would probably cost more than half of the vehicles value. Any suggestions on factory rebuild manual? I found some online for $300 a set, but that’s a lot of money to...
