I borrowed a Chiltons manual for my friends 1995 3.8L V6 Mustang that needs headgaskets and it says the 1st step is to torque the headbolts to 15 ft-lbs. Then tighten to 29ft-lbs. Then tighten to 37 ft-lbs. Then loosen the bolts one at a time and re-tighten the long bolts to 11-18ft-lbs and the short bolts to 7-15ft-lbs and then a turn of an additional 85-95 degrees. Does this sound right? And does the initial tightening sequence start with the center headbolts and spiral outward? I've never done a FORD headgasket before and it sounds very different from what Ive done before. Thanks.
