Crunch. Thanks for the info. I have a MT2500 but only updated to 1999. Is that year the same as 2000 to set the timing retard? I have it at #1 TDC on compression but wondered at the 8 notch on the dist, so that just means 8 cylinder engine. Great.
Depending on scanner.
Always use a engine data capable scanner.
Some scanners even stick it under engine missfire.
Check all engine running data for camshaft retard settings.
Set dist as close to -1 or +1 degrees as you can or dergrees is even better.
When setting always speed engine up over 1K RPM for scanner reading to reset.
Crunch, Getting no where fast with this. I thought my scanner was updated to 1999 but is only up to 1998. Just bought off eBay domestic cart up to 2001. So will wait until it arrives and then continue on this. Will keep you posted. Dave
