The transmission, over 220K mile seems to be losing ATF into the transfer case.

I'm looking into a used salvage trans.

Other than low mileage (cough, cough) anything else I should look for in a used trans?

if its leaking fluid into transfer case you need to replace the input seal in the transfer case

X2 No need to replace the trans just the seal.
I'm seeing ATF on the exhaust manifold on the passenger side including on the starter. Which seal is that?

The trans works fine as long as I keep ATF in it.

The coolant lines to the radiator aren't leaking. The radiator itself and the coolant fitting were replaced a couple of months ago when the lower intake manifold gasket was replace.
