Just picked up a 2001 Tiburon for my son, and the cruise control is inop. It was also very difficult to start, so I was certain replacing the pads on the clutch pedal and adjusting the clutch switches correctly was going to solve the problem, but that did not work. Or, I should say, noW the car starts easily, but the cruise is still off-line. Fuses are good, nothing noticeable under the hood, the cruise will show that it is activated when you push the button but none of the buttons on the stslk make anything happen. Does anyone have a diagnostic flow chart for this? It would be much appreciated! Thanks, and have a great night.

I have a similar problem with my 2013 Elantra 6 speed manual shift. The Cruise light comes on but it won't set. It used to do that every once in a while but, if I slowed down and shifted into 2nd or 3rd and then up, it would work again. Sometimes it would work fine for weeks and then do it again. Now it won't set at all. I'll see if I can check the actuator and main switch.
