All,

MIL came on on my '05 Altima after 102K miles. Mechanic found error code P0420. I was researching and found the following reference to a TSB"

TSB #06004 -- MIL ON WITH DTC P0420: CATALYTIC CONVERTER IS UNDAMAGED. *TT (NHTSA ID #10019113, JANUARY 24 2006)

I should note that I've noticed no other effects thus far after getting the Light. Any help appreciated. Thanks.

Pitch those TSBs in the trash can.
They are just a bunch of customer complaints. Since you took your car to a mechanic, what was his diagnosis ? Is the cat. bad ? A/F sensors ? Exhaust leak ?

Little bit of light reading to understand the code:

Dave,Other than that code being present, how does the engine run?Whats been done in the last 102K miles for maintenance? There are a few things that can cause that code, what needs to be done is start with the basic items like maintenance before you think about the converter being the fault.
