91 siverado transmission

hello
where and how do i find out what the original transmission in my
1991 silverado p/u
6. 2l diesel was
the transmission is broke and i don't think it is the original
the trans.
in it now is a automatic 3 speed 400.

A 91 and a THM400 does not seem correct to me ....

simple thing first...what 'gears" does the shift indicator display? does it show the OD symbol?

how about the check engine light ..........?

any chance the emissions data tag is on the radiator support? OR the rpo list in -glove box ?

You should be able to call your local GM dealer then ask for the parts dept. and give them the VIN and explain why you ned the model of the original trans, Transman
