Automotive Products Forum is for discussing automotive products, not for repair questions.
We do not answer questions via e-mail. Please do not e-mail us with repair questions. Keep them in the forums, where everyone can benefit.
Please understand that the mechanics take their personal time to help folks out. If someone posts a reply to your questio, please have the courtesy to give them the feedback to their questions. If they receive no feedback, then they will assume that you no longer need help.
When you have received the info you need to repair your vehicle and it is fixed, please come back and let the folks know that it is fixed and what you found. It helps other folks who may be having the same troubles.

This is NOT saying we won't provide TSB info. Just to make that clear.
We hate to do this, but we have been hit with constant TSB requests that are either cosmetic or folks just want the TSB and nothing else. We are sorry we have to do this, but the time and labor that is involved in researching the TSBs and getting them into a post and such has become too much for guys who are volunteering. The only other option would have been to start charging for our time.
So, we have made up these rules to getting any kind of information from a TSB from us.
ONLY AFTER you have provided the approppriate information (Year, make, model, engine and a detailed description of the problem you are having), will the mechanics determine if the TSB you are looking for is relevant to your vehicle or not. If they determine that it is not relevant, then they will tell you that it isn't relevant and they will not look any further for the information.
Even if they determine it is relevant, it is at their discretion as to what information they will provide, if any.
This is a free service that we do as a courtesy, not a given. While we will try and supply the TSB, we don't always supply it anymore. If we don't supply the TSB for you or cannot supply it, then we are sorry and are in no way obligated to.

- The requests must be posted in the forums, we do not answer requests via e-mail.
- We will only give TSB information to a problem that requires it in assistance to a problem we are helping you on.
- If you post "I need a TSB", it will be ignored or removed.
- If you are having a problem with your vehicle and know a particular TSB refers to your problem, let us know what the problem is, Year, Model and Engine and the TSB number you think is pertaining to your problem and we will try and help you out.
- If it is a safety item, we will try and help you out with it, but we may also tell you that it is best to have a shop take care of it.
- Think about the TSB you are hoping to get the text for, is it cosmetic? Meaning, is it a TSB about paint, headliner or interior? Please don't ask.
- If you argue with us, rant or complain because someone got one and you haven't yet, you will not get anything. We try, but aren't always able to come up with the info or have time to get it. If you cannot understand that, then you are better off getting an AlldataDIY subscription.
- Lastly and most importantly. Only after we have the information on the vehicle and the problem, we may be able to find the correct information for you.
Understand that if you are providing a number from NHTSA, there is a good likelihood that we may not be able to locate the TSB with NHTSA's numbers.
What is a TSB?
TSBs are NOT recalls and the repairs are not free. The dealer is not obligated to do the repair. It is at your cost, unless the vehicle is covered under warranty.
If the vehicle is not covered under warranty, then it is your cost.
A TSB is a Technical Service Bulletin. It is a repair aid for manufacturer's dealers and can sometimes give added insight into a known problem of a specific vehicle. Alldata and NHTSA both provide free TSB summaries, but just a breif description of the TSB. NHTSA's numbering system can be confusing, as alot of their TSB numbers do no match the manufacturer's numbers..
Radio access Codes......
Sorry, but you will need your VIN number and contact your dealer for that information. There is no quick fix or bypassing it. If you do not have the VIN and the other information the dealer requires, then you are out of luck. Sorry, but it is the only way.
SRS/Airbag information....
We have made it a point, since the beginning of this website, that we DO NOT provide ANY SRS/airbag information. If you ask, you will be told to seek a qualified, trained facility to do the repair. Read the article on SRS, titled "You aren't really going to try and repair the airbag, are you?" The only correct answer is to have a trained professional repair it.
Air-conditioning questions......
We do not support discussions on HC blends, propane blends or alternative A/C refrigerants. Nor do we offer any kind of advice to modiying or bypassing portions of any A/C system (with exception of adding A/C to cars without), please do not ask. The manufacturers do not recognize most of these and most are not approved by the EPA in all states. While there are very few that do meet EPA specifications, we have taken the stance that only refrigerants approved by the manufacturer should be discussed on this site. If you wish to discuss hybrid blends or alternative refrigerants, there are plenty of sites that address those refrigerants. Understand that if you choose to use a blend refrigerant, you are stuck with it. Very few shops will touch a system with an unidentified refrigerant in it.
- #1 Freon is non consumable, if it's not there then there is a leak
- #2 A/C is a delicate balance between liquid/gas (low side/high side) and too much freon is just as bad as not enough
- #3 If you are not prepaired to buy a set of A/C gauges, and be willing to possibly buy a vaccum pump or a/c die and replace the proper componets, then don't even waste your time.
- #4 90% of the time your going to have to pull a vaccum, flush the lines and most the time replace the accumilator and the Oriface tube/expansion valve.
- #5 The only easy fix is if one of the pressure switches is bad, there is no just add freon fixes.
- #6 Please Please don't just add freon w/ a charging kit because you think it needs it, It doesn't work like that.
- #7 These guys are a execlent source for help and if you listen to the procedures as you are told you will end up w/ some ice cold A/C, being hard headed is expensive.
- #8 And here is a link from AC kits.com to what a person needs to recharge a air conditioning.
A/C starter Kit - #9 Adding freon to a system that has a good charge can be dangerous and can cause you harm, if the pressures get to high and blow the freon can or something in the system.
Emissions (Catalytic converters, smog pumps, etc.)
If you are asking questions about how to, or what to do due to an illegal modification, ie; removal of catalytic converters, air pump, smog pump, polution controlls, MIL eliminators, bypassing rev limiters or governers, etc, how to do these items, or work arounds for the other problems they cause, your questions will not be answered or you will be directed to your local epa etc. The only questions that will be answered are those asking how to un-do this, how to put the cats back in and questions of that nature.
Why the rules??
Alot of you are wondering why the rules. Why not just provide the info? The answer is, quite simply, because alot of the mechanics/technicians take great pride in doing a proper and safe job. This page has taken shape over time after discussions of mechanics/technicians on what is right and safe. We apologize if it comes off as a power trip or that we just don't want to deal with those issues, but there are some things that the consensus has been not to deal with it because of inherent dangers and regulations. We hope you understand our position. Since the mechanics/technicians volunteer their time, they may not feel comfortable with certain situations.
