I have drilled out the 2 rivets that hold the motor to the inner door panel and will eventually bolt on the new motor. The old motor is now loose, but still inside the door attached to the regulator. How do I get the motor off the regulator? I am considering cutting a 4" hole in the inner door panel to cut off what I think are rivets attaching the motor to the regulator.
I do not want to remove the motor and regulator as an assy because I can not see (even with a mirror) the glass pinch holders plus the access holes are tiny and I do not want to break glass or something else. And all that is sold is the motor, not the motor-regulator assy or even a regulator only.
I attached a picture with green tape pointing to the new 2 bolt holes and masking tape showing the proposed area to cut out.
Anybody done this or have any ideas?
