Actually I was more of a (poor, turns out) advisor. This is my son's truck, he was doing most of the work and was the one that found the leak. It is a remarkably hard beast to work on, considering all the room there is under the hood of a full-size PU. That inlet plenum/runner assembly covers lot of things up.

Nice job, good thing it wasn't a van body those are even harder to work on, visual inspection wins again.

Oh, it wasn't found visually, you can't see most of that stuff under the intake. My understanding is that he was wiping off something with a paper-towel, and the tail of the towel suddenly got "slurpped up" by the leak! The repair was done mostly by feel, aided by removing the EGR valve. Luck and persistence prevailed this time.
