Muffler removal

My muffler has separated from the rest of The exhaust line because of a rusted out clamp so it’s just hanging in the rubber hangers. There’s like metal tops holding the muffler inside the rubber Hangers. Can these be removed or prayed off some way? The metal like rods that go through the hangers are in turn welded to the body of the car

Don’t have the new muffler just yet but since this is kinda just hanging I wanted to remove it. Hoping nothing has to be cut off and welded back up

I would try to use heavy wire and exhaust clamps to "refasten" the broken parts together so that most of the exhaust blows into the muffler.
