Just a curious question ,,, do Dodge avengers have problems with transmissions?
This car was driving and then parked for a few hours and now it has no forward and no reverse,
I just hear a whine when placed in any gear.
I checked the fluid level, even though no dipstick.
and it seems ok and does not stink

could have a stopped up filter or even a bypass valve stuck open and dumping the line pressure this is a 62te transmission and it was also noted for stripping out splines on the input hub

I am guessing the input splines require trans removal?
I will remove the pan this weekend to look at filter.

Unlikely as it may be, check that you don't have a broken axle.

To check axles? I don't have an official procedure, but you simply jack of one drive wheel, put the trans in park and try turning that one raised wheel by hand. If it will turn, something is broken and may well be an axle. While somebody is turning that raised wheel, go under and see if one end of either axle is turning but the other end isn't.

I understand it takes a tester that has two gauges. One for low pressure and one for high pressure.
What I need is the port locations and pressure reading charts.
