Tuneup really has nothing to do with this code......

Basically, you have an air pump, solenoid(s), and check valve(s)......

The system is usually used at startup, because of cold starts, and overly rich condition is present, and the air helps to burn up, the unburned fuel before it gets to the cat.....

The Pump is turned on for a predetermined time, usually based on coolant temp, ambient air, etc.

When the pump is turned on, a solenoid usually opens the air passage to a check valve and air is forced into the exhaust......this helps to burn the excess fuel, lowering HC's to the atmosphere.....

When the pump is on and the solenoid is open, the O2 sensor on that bank should go lean, informing the VCM(computer), that the system is working....if the VCM does not see the O2 sensor go lean on that bank, this sets the code.....

Problem could be a bad pump, bad solenoid, signal to the solenoid, or a bad check valve.....Bank #2 means, it's on the side #2 cylinder is.....
