The SES light has been intermittently illuminating when the vehicle is usually at half a tank. Once the car is filled, the light goes out shortly after. Upon scanning the car, the P2068 code is returned. This is the "Fuel Level Sensor B Circuit High." Since this is an AWD vehicle the vehicle has two fuel sending units, one on the fuel pump which is on the driver side and a second sending unit on the passenger side. The fuel pump has a fuel transfer hose, siphon line, that transfers the fuel from the passenger side of the tank to the driver side. We've replaced the fuel pump as well as the passenger side sending unit. the SES light continues to illuminate intermittently. We've recently noticed that when the vehicle was at half a tank of gas, the passenger side sending unit had a resistance of 72 Ohms while the driver side sending unit had a resistance of 50 Ohms. When the tank is full the sending unit reads approximately 10 Ohms and 180 Ohms when empty. Has anyone had a similar issue or know what would cause the fuel pump to unevenly pump fuel from the passenger side to the driver side of the gas tank? We believe that this imbalance in fuel level, which results in the difference in resistance between the sending units, is causing the SES light to continue to illuminate.
