hi I just finally fixed that cam gear on my 2002 corolla, however now I need to pass inspection and my emmision monitors are not ready. 4 out of 7 are ready. But before I did the work on the gear I noticed the catalyst and evap monitors were not ready. What does this mean?

The Cat test should reset on a decent steady highway run but the evap may take some time as there are many parameters that must be met before the test will even run. All manufacturers are different but the outside temp must be within a certain range, the tank must be filled between 1/4 and 3/4, the engine needs to be a certain temp, etc. However, most states allow for at least one of the monitors to have not set depending on how many at useable and how many have run. The point is if you get the cat to flip then you should pass without a problem. Transman
