i have spark testers, that are the kind that work fine when you have the old typical spark plug wires, but i wanted to know if there was a fairly inexpensive spark tester a person could buy, that could test the direct ignition type set up. i inquired about such an item at some of my local big chain auto parts stores, but they told me they did not carry such an item thanks for any responses.

Find a different parts place.
They make one that has a adjustable spark gap for any type of spark.
Look in the Bat auto tool store. :)

You're looking for one of these.

I didn't see it in the BAT store, but I'll bet it's not been reloaded yet after the last crash. Click the link at the top of the BAT store for things that aren't listed. I'll bet one of the moderators can link it for you.

I've never seen ant brand name stamped on it. I bought it from J.C. Whitney (if I remember right) about 12 years ago. It's rather chinsey in design, I'm sure a name-brand tool would be better designed, but it gets the job done.

i got mine from autozone it says OEM on it it cost all of 9 bucks. it was right in the tool section you might have better luck if you just look for yourself some of the employees at auto parts stores really don't know anything about auto parts, some do though!

I found a brand on it. "Products Research Inc". It was stamped on the back all these years and I've never seen it before...lol
