How are you? I've been snooping for awhile and wanted to get your opinion. I have kind of narrowed my choice of scanners to either the Autotap or the Autoxray EZ-Scan6000. The Autotap seems to have more features, but I can get the 6000 for $299 + the Chrysler cable for Enhanced diagnostics for another $34. Its also nice that the 6000 can be used stand-alone, even though I do have a laptop. Plus, it is OBDI capable. I am a middleaged ex muscle car guy who would like to do his own repairs.

Would either be able to help me further troubleshoot my wife's Chrysler 300M's emissions failure with the P0445 (Evaporative System Failure-Large)?

Thanks for any guidance that you can give me!

Take care,

Bruce ???

The forum BAT auto has a comparission guide :
http://www.troublecodes.net/technical/scaninfo.shtml

TO do diagnostics not just "read" codes yu will need a Bi directional with enhanced capabilities, (read$$$$).
Also low end scanners ....will NOT do ABS, SRS, VATS, TCM, BCM, and sometimes the manufactured enhanced codes.

Autoequity would be worth a look...

PS post in domestics for ideas and advice on the 300M"s code ....add model year, engine, any modifications or add ons
